After Discipline, a film by Cammisa Buerhaus structures a series of narrative stories punctuated by black frames. Delivered in a rural domestic house, Cammisa shares a first person account of childhood familial encounters that reflect upon maternal role models and long-lasting replication and recasting of this primary bond through dialogue with artistic mentors, lovers, and past lives. Feminine sexual identity is woven together from tales of earlier punishments and rewards. 

After Discipline speaks to Wilder Alison’s deconstructed installation centrifugal plots, an exhibition returning to Wilder’s earliest performative handling of her painted subject; Wilder recasts her dyed wool textiles as parts within an interdependent sculptural whole. centrifugal plots is an air-bound sculptural animal, a set of concentric rings raised and lowered through a pulley system, disciplined through a designed relationship to pull and release.

Cammisa Buerhaus is a theatre artist, writer, and visual artist. For the past 10 years Buerhaus has worked between artistic disciplines, developing a hybrid practice across harsh noise, performance, and visual art. Buerhaus writes and directs confessional-performative psychodramas written in her signature hallucinatory prose.
